Add new Instrument
This can be done directly from the Ribbon, or via the Instruments Manager.
Add new Instrument directly from the Ribbon
1. Select the shape
Click on the shape that you want to transform into an Instrument.
2. Mark it as an Instrument
Press on the “Instrument” button located in the Conditions group in the AseptSoft ribbon.
3. Choose the type and confirm
Choose existing type of instuments or input your own new type.
Then confirm the action by pressing “OK”
Add new Instrument using the Instruments Manager
1. Open Instruments Manager
In the AseptSoft Ribbon, in the Conditions Group, expand the Instrument menu, and click on “Instruments…”
2. Press “Add…”
Press the “Add…” button in the bottom-left corner of the Instruments Manage window.
3. Select the shape
Now the window is temporary hidden, so click on the shape that you want to transform into an Instrument.
4. Confirm selection
Confirm the operation with click on the “Confirm” button in the AseptSoft ribbon -> Selection group -> Confirm button
5. Choose the type and confirm
Choose existing type of instuments or input your own new type.
Then confirm the action by pressing “OK”
Cancel Instrument
1. Select the Instrument
Click on the shape that you want to remove the Instrument property.
2. Unmark it as an Instrument
Press on the “Instrument” button located in the Conditions group in the AseptSoft ribbon.
It is the same button as for Marking as an Instrument, but for allready existing instruments, it acts like a cancel button.
Edit Instrument
1. Open Instruments Manager
In the AseptSoft Ribbon, in the Simulations Group, expand the Instrument menu, and click on “Instruments…”
2. Select the target
In the Instruments Manager window select the Instrument that you are interested in.
3. Edit
You can:
- Rename the Shape (that won’t affect any AseptSoft component)
- Change the text. WARNING: By doing that, Excel will NOT be affected. That way, every current usage of that instrument won’t highlight the instrument anymore.
COMING SOON: Excel will get dinamically changed the usage of the Instrument. That way, you will be able to rename as you want, without problems. - Change the measure unit: IF you mistakely set an istrument to measure something that you don’t want, you can change here.
3. Apply
Press the “Apply” button or the “OK” button located in the bottom side of the window.
Save
Press the “Save” button in the AseptSoft ribbon. That will write the new association in all the other Processes if any, and then Save both the P&ID structure and the excel files.
