Sources – create, edit, remove

Add new Source

This can be done directly from the Ribbon, or via the Sources Manager.

Add new Source directly from the Ribbon

1. Select the shape

Click on the shape that you want to transform into a source.

2. Mark it as a Source

Chose the type of source that you want to create and click it.
There are two types available:

  • Liquid Source. That means we consider the fluid that this source provides is heavier than the air, so it will lay on the bottom of the tanks. So it will leave the tanks using only the lower exit points.
  • Gas Sources. That means the content the source provides has the same density as the air, so It will leave a tank on all possible paths.

Add new Source using the Source Manager

1. Open Sources Manager

In the AseptSoft Ribbon, in the Simulations Group, expand the Source Properties menu, and click on “Sources…”

2. Press “Add…”

Press the “Add…” button in the bottom-left corner of the Sources Manage window.

3. Select the shape

Now the window is temporary hidden, so click on the shape that you want to transform into a source.

4. Confirm selection

Confirm the operation with click on the “Confirm” button in the AseptSoft ribbon -> Selection group -> Confirm button

Cancel Source

1. Select the Source

Click on the shape that you want to cancel the Source property.

In the field “Cell” write a new unique association name having at least 3 characters.

Example: Write “VP101Renamed”

Change Source Content

1. Select the Source

Click on the shape that you want to change the content on.

2. Mark it as a Source on the new content that you want

Chose the type of source that you want to create and click it.
There are two types available:

Synchronize and save

Press the “Save” button in the AseptSoft ribbon. That will write the new association in all the other Processes if any, and then Save both the P&ID structure and the excel files.
