Quick Editor – Format all Phases at once

About the Quick Editor tool

The Quick Editor tool is usefull in the further situations:

  • If you want to write a text over in a cell over all the Processes and all the Phases, you can use that tool.
  • If you want to format the aspect all the Phases in Excel, then you can just edit one phase, and clicking that button will apply the same format to all the other Phases in all the Processes.

Apply Text to all Phases

Usefull when:

  • You want to set the same state to a valve(component) in all the Phases
  • You want to set the same Text for a header associations in all the Phases
  • You want to clear some old and irrelevant data in some areas (For example you moved the Algorithm table, and you don’t need the current one anymore)

1. Select the cell

In Excel select the Cell that you want t have the new value in all the Phases.

Example: We want to set to a valve “VP101” the general state “closed” in all the Phases. (We want it to be always closed, until further edit.)

2. Open the Quick Editor

Launch the Quick Editor wizard using the button with an Excel icon on it from the group Associations from the ribbon AseptSoft

3. Choose the new text

Set the new text that will appear in all the Phases

Example: “closed” – for the case where we want to close the valve in all the Phases.

4. Text only or Text with formatting

Choose if the wizard will write only the text in each Phase, or the text and the formatting as well. That can be done using the radio buttons.

5. Apply the new text

Click “Apply” in order to write the text in all the Phases.

Synchronize and save

Press the “Save” button in the AseptSoft ribbon. That will write the new association in all the other Processes if any, and then Save both the P&ID structure and the excel files.

Apply Visual Format to all the Phases

1. Edit the cells as you wish

Use Excel’s tools to edit the desired area as you want. Do that in the active Phase, and then we will set it over the rest of the Phases.

2. Select the group

Now select the entire group of cells whose format you want to apply over all the Processes.

3. Open the Quick Editor

Launch the Quick Editor wizard using the button with an Excel icon on it from the group Associations from the ribbon AseptSoft

4. Apply the new format

Click “Apply” in order to apply the format in all the Phases.

Synchronize and save

Press the “Save” button in the AseptSoft ribbon. That will write the new association in all the other Processes if any, and then Save both the P&ID structure and the excel files.

Note: Now in all the Phases you will see the new format, over the existing cells.
